Do you daydream about being surrounded by new smells, colours and flavours? Or are you maybe itching to trek deep into the exotic jungle? No matter what you tend to dream about, you can be sure you’ll discover plenty of destinations that will appeal to your imagination at the Holiday Fair. Let us give you just two examples. Have you considered visiting India? Or the Dominican Republic?
India, a melting pot of cultures
Bounded by both the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal, the Republic of India is situated on the Indian subcontinent and for the most part forms a peninsula. The country spans multiple climate zones – from a tropical climate in the south, to a moderate climate in the north. The largest part of the country moreover has a monsoon climate. India is one of the largest and most populous countries in the world, and it is home to many different communities, each with distinct cultural influences of their own. As far as we’re concerned, this cultural melting plot is India’s absolute number-one draw. Visitors to the country will after all be rewarded with a plethora of flavours, colours, smells, customs and traditions that couldn’t be further from what we’ve grown used to in Belgium. It’s why a trip to India makes for a cultural trip that will last you a lifetime in memories. A must-see and do!
The Dominican Republic, relaxation at its Caribbean finest
The Dominican Republic covers roughly two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean. The fact that the island comprises no less than 128 protected nature reserves should already give you an inclination of just how magically beautiful this place is. Expect to get up close with breath-taking waterfalls and reservoirs, as well as many old cities and historical sites. The capital of Santo Domingo is the oldest city in America and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1990 already. Yet the country is probably best-known for its amazing summer climate. It’s why the Dominican Republic has long been a beloved holiday destination, especially among avid sunbathers who like to stay at luxury resorts. Can you already see yourself there, stretched out on a deckchair?
